Tyre Manager – Johannesburg

About the role

The Tyre Manager will oversee the implementation of Hestony’s tyre strategy across regional workshops and depots, ensuring efficient and effective tyre solutions for the fleet while minimising downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure strict adherence to group tyre maintenance policies and conduct fleet inspections and surveys according to Hestony standards.
• Carry out route studies, manage breakdowns efficiently, and guarantee the availability of correct equipment.
• Maintain strict control over company‑owned tyre stock, perform month‑end stock takes and keep optimal stock levels to reduce fleet downtime.
• Administer tyre management processes, keep documentation accurate and timely, and ensure compliance with OHS regulations.
• Lead tyre staff, resolve conflicts, manage performance, coach and mentor team members, and deploy staff based on competencies.
• Conduct risk management activities, including audits of hygiene, use of protective equipment, and training to minimise injuries.

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
• At least 5 years of tyre management experience with a proven track record.
• Computer literate – proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, internet and email.
• Dedicated team player with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, management and administration abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle disciplinary actions when required.
