Truck Driver – Timber Transport (Durban)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Truck Driver to transport raw timber, processed wood products and related materials for Coastal Timber. The role involves safe vehicle operation, compliance with transport regulations and close collaboration with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely, secure deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Operate company trucks safely, adhering to traffic rules and transport regulations.
• Load and unload timber products, securing loads to prevent damage during transit.
• Plan and optimise delivery routes, considering traffic, schedules and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and complete pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
• Communicate promptly with warehouse staff regarding delays, issues or schedule changes.
• Provide professional customer service during deliveries and follow safety protocols.

Required profile

• Valid commercial driver’s licence (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Valid PDP driver’s licence.
• Previous driving experience, preferably in the timber or related industry.
• Ability to lift and move heavy timber products during loading and unloading.
