Travel Consultant – Pietermaritzburg

About the role

Pentravel, a division of Cullinan Holdings, is looking for a dynamic Travel Consultant to join its Pietermaritzburg team. You will deliver exceptional service, design bespoke itineraries and drive sales while supporting the overall profitability of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to generate repeat business and referrals.
• Design and sell customized travel itineraries that match client preferences, budgets and needs.
• Provide expert advice on destinations, visas, travel insurance and related services.
• Maximise sales through upselling, cross‑selling and promoting preferred partners.
• Maintain accurate client records using the company’s operational systems.
• Handle customer complaints and queries professionally and efficiently.
• Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and product knowledge.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a sales‑driven, target‑oriented role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong sales and customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to work weekends and public holidays on a roster basis.
• Commitment to recruitment in line with employment‑equity obligations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with reservation systems; experience with Amadeus is advantageous.
