Trainee Finance Manager – Newly Qualified CA(SA) – 2 Years Experience – R35k-45k

About the role

Our client, a leading car‑hire company, is looking for a newly qualified CA(SA) with roughly two years of post‑articles experience to join as a Trainee Finance Manager. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will gain hands‑on exposure to the full finance function while supporting reporting, budgeting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and executive reports.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and long‑term financial planning.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and maintain general ledger integrity.
• Oversee reconciliations, debtors, creditors and ensure IFRS, tax and statutory compliance.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, banks and regulators.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Required profile

• Qualified CA(SA) – essential.
• Approximately 2 years post‑articles experience.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and tax compliance.
• Experience in the car‑hire, automotive, transport or logistics sector is advantageous.
• Proactive, hands‑on attitude with the ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems.
• Knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation.
