Trainee Accountant (SAICA/SAIPA) – Cape Town

About the role

Our client is seeking motivated and ambitious SAICA/SAIPA trainees to join their professional team in Century City. The position offers practical experience in a supportive accounting environment, ideal for those beginning or progressing their professional training.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of accounting records and financial information.
• Gain practical exposure to accounting, auditing and taxation functions.
• Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and management accounts.
• Perform accounting reconciliations and general accounting duties.
• Assist with tax compliance and statutory requirements.
• Support audit and accounting engagements as required.
• Maintain accurate and organised client documentation.
• Communicate with clients and team members in a professional manner.
• Meet required deadlines and maintain a high standard of work.
• Participate actively in training, development and performance feedback.
• Work towards achieving the relevant SAICA/SAIPA training requirements and competencies.

Required profile

• Relevant BCom Accounting, BCom Financial Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• Must meet the academic requirements to pursue SAICA or SAIPA training/articles.
• Genuine interest in developing a career in accounting.
• Strong academic and analytical ability.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a professional team environment.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Commitment to completing the required SAICA/SAIPA training programme.
