Tracking Technician – Field Installation & Maintenance

About the role

The Tracking Technician will install, repair and maintain Ctrack telematics units and other approved products in vehicles. Working on‑site, the technician ensures devices are correctly configured and functional, supporting the company’s fleet tracking services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑ and post‑installation inspections in line with department requirements.
• Install, repair and service Ctrack units and company‑approved products according to policies and procedures.
• Configure devices, troubleshoot issues and ensure optimal performance.
• Complete administrative tasks using company systems as requested by management.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines during all installations.

Required profile

• Minimum Matric or equivalent qualification.
• At least two years of relevant field installation or automotive electrical experience.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and schedules.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office – intermediate proficiency.
• Knowledge of installation procedures and techniques for telematics devices.
• Understanding of auto‑electrical systems (advantage).
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
