Till Operator & Customer Assistant – Retail

About the role

Join Woolworths as a Till Operator / Customer Assistant at the Gardenroute Mall store in George. You will be the front‑line representative, handling cash transactions, promoting loyalty programmes and providing a friendly, efficient checkout experience for shoppers.

Key responsibilities

• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently at the till.
• Promote Woolworths loyalty programmes and ancillary services such as bill payments.
• Maintain a clean and organised checkout area.
• Provide product information and assist customers with enquiries.
• Ensure compliance with store policies, including cash handling and shrinkage prevention.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent NQF qualification.
• Flexible availability to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with basic selling skills.
• Excellent communication, numeracy and literacy abilities.
• Attention to detail, punctuality and adherence to dress code.
• Ability to remain calm and manage stress during busy periods.
• Honesty, reliability and an ethical approach to cash handling.
