Theatre Stock Controller

About the role

The Theatre Stock Controller will work within the pharmacy of Life Eugene Marais Hospital, reporting to the Inventory Manager. The role ensures effective control of all stock, supporting medication safety and financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain continuous availability of stock, including packing, unpacking, and managing dead or short‑dated items.
• Perform daily stock counts, reconcile drug credits, and generate missing‑stock and over‑charge reports.
• Conduct monthly and annual stock takes, and manage bin maintenance and back‑order registers.
• Monitor high‑moving and slow‑moving items, update MRP levels, and support cost‑of‑sales management.
• Report inventory incidents, assist with remedial actions, and contribute to quality and financial management systems.

Required profile

• Grade 12 National Senior Certificate; additional certificates, diplomas or degrees are advantageous.
• 1–2 years of experience in hospital stock or inventory management is preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment and willingness to work extra hours when needed.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP stock management system.
• Knowledge of the Impilo billing system.
