Theatre Stock Controller (3‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Theatre Stock Controller needed for a 3‑month fixed‑term contract at Life Kingsbury Hospital. Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, you will ensure a reliable pharmaceutical and surgical supply service while meeting quality, financial and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers to support audit compliance.
• Set and maintain preferred stock levels; order stock daily to guarantee supply.
• Manage assets, conduct quarterly stocktakes, and support regular cycle counts.
• Handle dead stock, short‑dated items and non‑recoverable utilization.
• Monitor expiry dates and manage unrecorded liabilities, MIR6 and GRIR reports.
• Inform Unit Manager and Pharmacy Manager of shortages or issues.
• Ensure continuous stock availability and cost‑efficient staff planning.
• Oversee surgical stores, procurement, control and distribution of surgical stock.
• Accurately receive and receipt surgical stock, capture prosthesis and consignment invoices.
• Implement and maintain the LHC formulary, capture product complaints and resolve stakeholder queries.
• Promote a culture of quality and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Minimum 2 years stock control experience in a hospital environment.
• Working knowledge of SAP (advantage) and mandatory experience with iMeds.
• Understanding of the private healthcare sector and its challenges.
• Result‑oriented, detail‑focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and perform under pressure.
• Computer proficiency and experience in inventory management within a pharmaceutical setting.
