Theatre Rotation Registered Nurse

About the role

The Theatre Rotation Registered Nurse joins Netcare Rosebank Hospital’s operating theatre programme to develop the competencies required to become a theatre scrub nurse. The role involves rotating through multiple theatre departments under the supervision of a competent theatre nurse or unit manager, while delivering holistic, person‑centred care to patients and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure effective communication between nursing management and the unit to resolve patient‑care issues.
• Assess, plan and implement advanced nursing care in a specialised theatre setting, following standard nursing procedures.
• Rotate between theatre departments and obtain sign‑off from a dedicated competent theatre nurse or unit manager for each area.
• Provide holistic, person‑centred nursing care that addresses physical, social and spiritual needs.
• Follow the theatre programme adapted by the Unit Manager to meet the specific disciplines of each theatre.

Required profile

• Registered professional nurse with a current nursing licence.
• Willingness to rotate across different theatre areas and complete required sign‑offs.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to applying scientific nursing theories and processes.
• Focus on treating patients as physical, social and spiritual individuals.
