Theatre Recovery Registered Nurse (RN)

About the role

Our client, a leading private healthcare provider, is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to work in theatre recovery at a private hospital in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The role involves delivering safe, comprehensive peri‑operative care for patients emerging from surgery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality peri‑operative nursing care in line with the nursing Scope of Practice.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to identify, prevent and manage patient risks.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a calm, supportive environment.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of all nursing interventions.
• Ensure proper charging and documentation of all stock and equipment used.

Required profile

• Valid SANC nursing licence.
• Minimum of 1 year post‑qualification experience in theatre recovery.
• Additional qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing or Critical Care Nursing is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of nursing legislation, the Scientific Nursing Process and relevant BCA bundles.
• Knowledge of theatre and CSSD policies, surgical equipment management, infection prevention and control (IPC) and risk management principles.
