Theatre Qualified Registered Nurse

About the role

The Recruitment Studio is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to work in the operating theatre. The role involves delivering safe, cost‑effective patient care in line with hospital standards while supporting surgical teams across all major disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the operating theatre, following the Scope of Practice.
• Attend handover reports at the start of each shift and maintain accurate patient records.
• Maintain a therapeutic and safe environment by adhering to health‑and‑safety, infection control, and stock management policies.
• Work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends, and remain effective under stressful conditions.
• Promote positive public relations with patients, relatives, and visitors.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse.
• Qualification in Operating Room Science.
• Minimum of 2 years experience scrubbing in a theatre environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to shift patterns.
• Commitment to maintaining health practice standards and customer‑focused mindset.
