Theatre Experienced Registered Nurse

About the role

The Recruitment Studio is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse with a minimum of two years’ experience in an operating theatre environment. The successful candidate will deliver safe, cost‑effective patient care in line with hospital standards, while supporting the surgical team throughout procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the operating theatre.
• Participate in handover reports at the start of each shift.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Uphold health‑and‑safety standards, including infection prevention and control policies.
• Manage theatre stock, ensuring proper charging and crediting of supplies.
• Promote a therapeutic environment and maintain positive relations with patients, relatives, and visitors.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse.
• At least two years of experience scrubbing in a theatre for major surgical disciplines.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions.

Required skills

• Operating Room Science knowledge.
