Territory Manager

About the role

Merit Medical is seeking a Territory Manager to drive sales of its medical devices across South Africa. The role involves presenting, selling, and supporting Merit’s product portfolio to both new and existing customers, ensuring their needs are met and fostering long‑term relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Meet regularly with clients to demonstrate products and explain benefits.
• Identify and engage potential customers, expanding the market base.
• Maintain ongoing contact to monitor satisfaction and address issues.
• Prepare custom drawings, kits, or manifolds as required.
• Develop and submit pricing proposals and contracts.
• Follow up to uncover opportunities for increased sales volume and profitability.
• Resolve manufacturing or delivery problems in collaboration with internal teams.
• Coordinate with marketing and sales colleagues to ensure timely product delivery.
• Make pricing decisions within authorized limits to optimise sales.
• Produce monthly sales reports highlighting results, contacts, and improvement suggestions.
• Participate in training, planning meetings and share market feedback.
• Travel to client sites by car, plane, or other transport as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.
• Minimum five years of direct sales experience, preferably in medical products.
• Strong communication skills and ability to understand customer needs.
• Proactive, results‑driven attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Required skills

• Experience preparing custom product specifications and pricing proposals.
• Ability to generate and analyse sales reports.
• Knowledge of medical device market and competitor offerings.
