About the role
The Technician is responsible for delivering high‑quality repairs and maintenance on heavy‑duty vehicles. Working with a commercial mindset, the role ensures customer satisfaction through timely, safe, and standards‑compliant service. The position contributes to Scania’s profitability and road safety by following defined processes, standards and guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare for each maintenance or repair event by securing the correct information, tools, and spare parts.
- Execute repairs and maintenance using established methods and standards, ensuring safety and on‑time completion.
- Follow Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) procedures throughout all activities.
- Use information technology to record work orders, document performed tasks and communicate hand‑over details.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a strong customer focus and ensure clear communication of any follow‑up actions.
- Document work performed and communicate any follow‑up actions to colleagues to minimise invoicing lead time.
Required profile
- Matric certificate (or N3) or equivalent.
- Qualified Diesel Technician with a Trade Test Certificate.
- Minimum three years of workshop experience repairing and maintaining heavy vehicles.
- Current employment in the present role for at least one year.
- Demonstrated competencies in customer focus, teamwork, integrity and compliance.
