Technical Specialist - Slope Stability Radar

About the role

GroundProbe, part of Orica, is seeking a Technical Specialist based in the Northern Cape to deliver on-site technical support for Slope Stability Radar systems. The role suits someone who understands technical systems, can diagnose and resolve issues, and provides reliable support to customers' site operations.

Key responsibilities

• Work safely and comply with workplace health and safety policies, procedures and customer-site requirements, and identify hazards.
• Install, integrate, commission and decommission Slope Stability Radar systems according to policy and procedures.
• Monitor, prepare and present Slope Stability Radar data, and give customers a basic understanding of the systems' use and performance.
• Diagnose faults, perform maintenance, breakdown and repair work, and minimise downtime.
• Provide on-site technical support at remote customer sites and from GroundProbe offices, travelling to remote sites when required.
• Maintain accurate job cards, inventory and spare-parts processes, assist with monthly stocktakes and logistics, and communicate professionally with customers.

Required profile

• A recognised Trade Test Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Millwright or Instrumentation.
• Currently residing in, or permanently based in, the Northern Cape.
• Driver's licence and ability to obtain a national police clearance certificate for mine-site access.
• Willingness and ability to travel to remote locations and meet customer mine-site fitness-for-duty requirements.
• Advantageous: experience in mining, heavy industry or remote-site environments, and experience with an ERP system such as Microsoft AX.
