Technical Projects Manager

About the role

This senior position is designed for a professional who thrives at the intersection of project leadership, engineering governance, and technical assurance. You will be responsible for delivering capital projects while ensuring compliance with civil and structural engineering standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage capital projects end‑to‑end, delivering on time, within budget, and to technical standards.
• Oversee project planning, budgeting, procurement and lifecycle governance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, operations and external partners.
• Act as the company’s civil and structural engineering authority, reviewing and verifying designs, reports and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with SANS codes, building regulations and statutory requirements.
• Provide engineering assurance and governance throughout all project phases.
• Lead civil and structural condition assessments and risk evaluations.
• Recommend infrastructure upgrades, asset lifecycle planning and investigate failures to drive root‑cause solutions.
• Manage relationships with consultants, contractors and regulatory authorities.
• Support internal teams with expert technical guidance and problem‑solving.

Required profile

• Senior professional with proven experience delivering capital projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering standards, SANS codes and building regulations.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage external partners.
