Technical Project Manager (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead complex, high‑impact technology projects for a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment. The role is remote and based in South Africa, connecting business strategy with technical execution across multiple teams, regions and product areas.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of cross‑functional projects, delivering on time, within scope and budget.
• Lead strategic initiatives such as market entries, platform enhancements, product launches, certifications and regulatory programmes.
• Coordinate dependencies, milestones and deliverables across Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, Commercial and Business Intelligence teams.
• Partner with senior leadership to translate strategic objectives into structured project plans and roadmaps.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level Project Managers and help raise project‑management maturity.
• Establish and maintain risk frameworks, run risk workshops and develop mitigation and contingency plans.
• Manage change‑control processes, escalating critical risks and issues when needed.
• Provide technical delivery oversight by understanding the software development lifecycle, integrations, architecture and frontend/backend concepts.
• Translate complex technical topics into clear business language for executives and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading complex, cross‑functional technology projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders, external partners and regulators.
• Experience mentoring junior or mid‑level project managers.
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle, technical architecture and integration concepts.
• Ability to assess feasibility, business impact, dependencies and delivery risks for roadmap prioritisation.
