Technical Operations Specialist – ATM & Cash Recycling

About the role

The company is expanding into ATM and cash‑recycling technology, building on an established national customer base and international OEM partnerships. This role is for an experienced ATM or cash‑recycler professional who wants to build and develop a specialised technical operation across South Africa, rather than simply maintain existing systems. The successful candidate will become a technical authority, contribute to product development, work with international OEM engineering teams, and help develop a team of technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and develop the company’s ATM and cash‑recycler technical capability.
• Provide advanced technical support for deployments and diagnose complex equipment faults.
• Develop product training programmes, internal certification, and competency standards.
• Create preventative‑maintenance standards, diagnostic procedures, and field‑service escalation processes.
• Build workshop and module‑level repair capabilities, and conduct failure and reliability analysis.
• Maintain technical knowledge databases, documentation, and spare‑parts strategies.
• Train and mentor technicians, define future technical skill requirements, and work directly with international OEM engineering teams.
• Participate in new‑product evaluation, firmware discussions, and support new‑currency implementations.

Required profile

• Strong technical experience with ATMs and/or cash recyclers.
• Excellent fault‑finding and analytical abilities.
• Experience collaborating with international OEMs and technical teams.
• Proven ability to produce detailed technical documentation and reports.
• Interest in product development, continuous improvement, and technology innovation.
• Willingness to train, mentor, and develop technical teams, with potential to progress into a leadership role.
