Technical Lead Engineer

About the role

This senior technical leadership position drives the integration of vehicle accessory systems, ensuring that designs meet customer, quality, cost and schedule expectations. You will be the primary technical focal point for integration projects and will guide a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of engineers, managing workloads, KPIs and project delivery.
• Oversee engineering projects involving wiring harnesses, brackets, sensors, electronic modules and overall vehicle accessory integration.
• Review and approve engineering designs before release, applying 8D problem‑solving methodology.
• Ensure compliance with automotive development standards such as SOR, DFMEA/PFMEA, DVPR, PPAP, APQP and Engineering Change Management.
• Coordinate activities across Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, Suppliers and Customers.
• Participate in customer technical reviews and Product Development Team meetings.
• Manage product development from concept through production, including CAD models, drawings, BOMs, prototypes and manufacturing documentation.
• Analyse vehicle electrical architecture, CAN networks and discrete electrical systems.
• Drive cost‑reduction initiatives and monitor supplier technical performance.
• Travel as required to support project activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of automotive engineering experience, with a proven track record delivering products from concept to production.
• Strong understanding of automotive development processes and standards.
• Experience working with customers, suppliers and cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent leadership, planning and communication skills.
