Technical IT Support Consultant – Kloof, Durban

About the role

The position is a first‑tier technical support role for a national vehicle tracking and fleet management company. Based at the head office in Kloof/Gillitts, the consultant will provide day‑to‑day system support to the engineering team and field technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Perform health checks on tracking units and cameras and validate units for repair.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tracking or camera issues reported from the field.
• Assist technicians with installations, pair auto‑remotes, and conduct daily AutoFuel checks.
• Carry out quality checks on installations and repairs, sign off job cards, and manage booking updates.
• Update the ERP system with customer communications and unit status.
• Provide after‑hours networking and server support, and basic desktop/device assistance.
• Conduct weekly website and camera footage reviews and occasional Saturday half‑day work on a rotational basis.

Required profile

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Previous experience or formal training in IT, systems or technical support.
• Strong knowledge of server environments.
• Ability to start as soon as possible and work onsite.
• Willingness to work occasional half‑day Saturdays and participate in rotational tasks.
