Technical Costing Engineer

About the role

The Company is seeking an experienced, commercially‑minded Technical Costing Engineer to lead and strengthen internal sales, tendering and equipment costing functions. The role will improve pricing accuracy, consistency and scalability while managing and redeveloping costing tools for both standard and custom engineered equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Review, audit and rebuild Excel‑based equipment costing tools; develop and maintain accurate costing models for standard and custom equipment.
• Validate material, labour, machining, fabrication, bought‑out items and overhead cost structures; establish costing controls, assumptions and margin review processes.
• Manage technical and commercial tender preparation, review RFQs and specifications, lead internal estimating and proposal development, and support pricing strategy for quotations and large projects.
• Support external sales team by driving enquiry‑to‑quotation workflows, reviewing quotations for technical and commercial accuracy, and developing structured internal sales processes.
• Provide technical support for equipment selection, configuration and solution development; assist in creating standard product configurations and pricing structures.
• Improve internal systems, data structures and processes related to pricing, tendering and sales support; assist integration of costing tools into ERP or automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering Diploma, BTech or Degree.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing costing, tendering and technical sales support.
• Proven ability to lead teams, drive process improvement and manage complex costing projects.
• Commercial mindset with strong attention to accuracy and profitability.
