Technical Advisor – Biosecurity for Poultry Farms (Western Cape)

About the role

The company is seeking a qualified Technical Advisor to audit biosecurity and clean‑out processes on poultry farms, hatcheries and processing plants across the Western Cape. The role involves extensive travelling, on‑site inspections and reporting to senior client management.

Key responsibilities

• Audit biosecurity measures, chemical application and usage on farms, hatcheries and processing plants.
• Prepare and submit detailed audit reports to client senior management and head office.
• Monitor wash‑out, disinfection processes and ensure farms are ready for clean‑out.
• Collect swab samples, coordinate laboratory analysis and compile hygiene score databases.
• Manage stock, vehicle maintenance and staff training at the Cape Town warehouse.
• Problem‑solve in remote locations with limited support and equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science with a major in Chemistry or Microbiology.
• Laboratory experience in microbiology or analytical chemistry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English; conversational Xhosa is a plus.
• Valid Code 8 driver’s licence (Code 10 advantageous) and good physical fitness.
• Self‑motivated, disciplined and well‑presented.
