About the role

Old Mutual is looking for a dynamic Team Leader to drive its direct sales channel in Cape Town. You will manage and implement the operating model that generates sales, cross‑sells products and embeds an integrated financial services offering across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales plans and pipelines for assigned agents, tracking productivity and lead‑to‑quote conversion.
• Maintain and improve key performance ratios such as quote‑to‑conversion, NTU, and cancellation rates.
• Manage discount mandates and cost‑to‑serve indicators to meet profitability targets.
• Coach sales staff on‑the‑job, ensuring a traceable coaching process and high product knowledge.
• Plan and allocate resource capacity, ensuring best‑practice delivery of customer experience standards nationally.
• Identify and implement process, product and system improvements to enhance operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting a high‑performance sales culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading sales teams in a direct‑sales environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret metrics and drive actionable improvements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to foster a high‑performance, results‑oriented culture.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of statutory and legislative requirements affecting customer experience.
