Team Leader – Production

About the role

The Team Leader – Production will oversee shift operations on a high‑volume beverage line, ensuring that production schedules, quality standards and safety protocols are consistently met. This role combines hands‑on line management with continuous‑improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and waste reduction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage shift production to achieve volume and quality targets, monitoring line performance and intervening on deviations.
• Lead, coach and develop direct reports, conduct shift handovers, toolbox talks and performance feedback.
• Enforce GMP, food‑safety, ISO and Coca‑Cola quality systems; support internal and external audits.
• Analyse production data to identify inefficiencies, implement lean tools (5S, Kaizen, root‑cause analysis) and improve OEE.
• Maintain safety standards, lead risk assessments, incident investigations and ensure a clean, hazard‑free work environment.
• Prepare accurate shift logs, downtime reports and production data; report material, equipment or quality deviations promptly.

Required profile

• National Diploma or NQF Level 6 in Production/Operations Management, Engineering, Food Technology or related field (degree advantageous).
• 3‑5 years of experience in a high‑volume FMCG or bottling environment.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or team‑leadership role on a production line.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
