Tax Manager

About the role

We are a well‑established, medium‑sized financial services firm based in Sunninghill, seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead our tax team in Sandton. The ideal candidate is passionate about tax law, up‑to‑date with South African tax regulations, and capable of driving the department to meet strict deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of Tax Consultants and a Tax Administrator.
• Ensure all tax deliverables meet SARS deadlines and internal targets.
• Compile tax calculations, complete tax returns, IRP6 provisional returns, and issue IRP5/IT3 certificates.
• Handle tax audits, objections, and high‑level disputes with SARS.
• Review tax returns and income tax assessments before submission.
• Provide tax opinions, consultations, and advice to clients.
• Oversee dividend tax, STT, customs applications, VAT/PAYE audits, and statutory registrations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a tax management role, preferably in a consulting environment.
• Own car, valid driver’s licence, and bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
• Tax practitioner status or ability to register soon.
• BCom degree with Tax specialization or Advanced Certificate/Hdip in Tax.
