Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Manager to lead compliance and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of corporate, SMME, trust and individual clients. The role involves managing tax return preparation, advising on complex restructuring and cross‑border issues, and serving as the primary client contact.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit income tax returns (ITR14, ITR12, ITR12T) and provisional tax estimates (IRP6).
• Manage VAT201, EMP201/EMP501 and Dividend Tax Returns (DTR01/DTR02) filings and reconciliations.
• Provide advisory services on corporate restructurings, group relief, Section 45 roll‑overs, exit charge mechanics and CGT exposure.
• Interpret and apply South Africa’s double tax agreement network for domestic and cross‑border client matters.
• Oversee client onboarding, SARS registrations, eFiling submissions and correspondence.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure compliance deadlines are met.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting or BCom Taxation (HDip Tax or MCom Taxation advantageous).
• SAIT membership with TP(SA) designation preferred.
• 2–5 years post‑articles experience in tax compliance and advisory.
• Strong knowledge of the Income Tax Act, VAT Act and Tax Administration Act.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Afrikaans a plus.
• High professional integrity and ability to work independently.
