Tax Consultant

About the role

The Wealth Management Group seeks a Tax Consultant to join its Hyde Park, Johannesburg office. Working closely with Financial Planners and the Legacy & Trust team, you will provide expert tax guidance, ensuring compliance and optimal outcomes for individuals, trusts, companies and estates.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit individual, trust, company and deceased estate tax returns via SARS eFiling.
• Advise clients on tax matters, identify planning opportunities and align advice with broader financial strategies.
• Manage SARS correspondence, including assessments, objections, verifications and audit queries.
• Interpret tax legislation and translate it into clear, practical guidance for clients.
• Maintain accurate, well‑organised client tax records and monitor legislative changes.
• Support continuous improvement of internal processes and client service delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax or a related field.
• Registered Tax Practitioner (required) and membership with a recognised professional body (advantageous).
• Minimum 4–5 years of tax compliance and advisory experience across individuals, trusts, companies and estates.
• Proven experience dealing with SARS, including audits and queries.
• Strong analytical, organisational and client‑centric mindset.
