About the role

The Tax Collections Specialist provides front‑line customer service for taxpayers, attorneys, and real‑estate professionals. This role handles inquiries, processes mail, and supports the tax office’s daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Answer telephone and in‑person inquiries about tax bills, property records, valuations, and procedures.
• Issue tax certifications to attorneys, lenders, and taxpayers.
• Process incoming and outgoing mail, enter amounts into the system, and maintain postage records.
• Research records and provide information on tax laws and policies.
• Verify deed requests, stamp approvals, and send explanatory letters.
• Secure, balance, and close out the cash drawer each day.
• Assist coworkers with delinquent collection research, employment and bank‑account verification, and posting payments.
• Support other sections of the Tax Office as needed.
