Tax Business Analyst – Financial Services

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Business Analyst to join the tax function of a leading financial services organisation. The role will focus on analysing tax‑impacting products, events and processes, ensuring tax requirements are embedded across business workflows and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct end‑to‑end business analysis of tax‑impacting products, events and processes.
• Document current‑state and future‑state business processes.
• Gather, analyse and document business and functional requirements.
• Identify gaps in controls, validations, audit trails and reporting.
• Maintain a comprehensive catalogue of tax‑impacting events, products and processing flows.
• Translate complex tax legislation into clear business and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with tax specialists, business stakeholders and IT teams to support solution delivery.
• Support FATCA and CRS reporting processes and identify automation opportunities.
• Assist with testing, validation and business readiness activities as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, Business or a related field.
• 5–8 years’ experience as a Business Analyst within Financial Services.
• 2–3 years’ experience on tax‑related projects, tax processes or tax reporting.
• Experience with South African tax legislation and exposure to international tax environments.
• Familiarity with FATCA and CRS reporting initiatives.
