T1 Technician – LDV Yard (Mining Electronics)

About the role

The T1 Technician will provide comprehensive technical services to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electronic technology used in the mining sector. Working on site at designated mines, you will install, certify, and support electronic products and systems while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, certify and provide technical support for electronic products and systems on the mine.
• Set up and test units to meet specified requirements and perform quality checks in line with company policy.
• Troubleshoot issues, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions or escalate as needed.
• Maintain electronic equipment and software according to company standards and client scope.
• Record maintenance activities, report further requirements and assist with new projects.
• Operate hand tools and small power tools safely and maintain a clean work environment.
• Liaise with other technical staff and customers to ensure contractual obligations are met.

Required profile

• Minimum N4 qualification in Electrical/Electronics.
• At least 4 years of experience in electronics (hardware and software) and IT (hardware, networks, software).
• Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Ability to follow safety regulations, risk assessments and maintain valid medical inductions.
