Automotive Technician – Johannesburg

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Automotive Technician to join our Johannesburg workshop. You will diagnose, repair and service a wide range of vehicles, ensuring work meets manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections and fault‑finding on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Carry out repairs within allocated flat‑rate times and document work on job cards.
• Identify additional repair needs and obtain authorization from the Workshop Foreman.
• Order, fit and verify correct replacement parts and components.
• Use diagnostic equipment and computer systems to pinpoint vehicle faults.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality control and customer satisfaction.
• Follow all workshop safety procedures, company policies and keep the work area clean.
• Care for workshop tools and equipment and mentor apprentices or junior technicians.

Required profile

• Red Seal Trade Certificate.
• Valid South African driver’s licence.
• Computer literate.
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Previous dealership experience is essential.
