Systems Business Analyst

About the role

The client, a leading fashion retailer in Cape Town, is looking for a Systems Business Analyst to act as the bridge between the systems teams, business units and third‑party providers. The role focuses on evolving FinTech capabilities for the Financial Services (VAS) and Cellular business areas while maintaining existing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct stakeholder analysis, elicit requirements and produce high‑quality BRD/BRS documents.
• Develop and manage communication, training, testing and rollout plans using both Waterfall and Agile approaches.
• Design, review and obtain sign‑off for Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS).
• Monitor development progress, generate status reports and facilitate collaboration between developers and business users.
• Lead UAT activities, manage defects and ensure timely escalation.
• Plan and execute pilot deployments, obtain business approvals and coordinate roll‑outs.
• Transition solutions to BAU, handling ticketing, resolution and ongoing maintenance.
• Perform hardware/software lifecycle reviews, evaluate new technologies and benchmark against market standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business analysis within IT or FinTech environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work with both Waterfall and Agile delivery methods.
• Experience supporting financial services or telecom business areas.
