System Administrator

About the role

The Hospitality Technology Company based in Somerset West is seeking a System Administrator to maintain, support, and improve both internal and client‑facing infrastructure. You will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of servers, networks, cloud environments, backups, and business systems supporting their cloud‑based PMS solution.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain company servers, cloud infrastructure, and network environments.
• Manage Microsoft 365 users, permissions, licenses, and security policies.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and supporting services.
• Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and patch management.
• Manage backup processes and regularly test disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, network equipment, and security systems.
• Provide second‑line and third‑line technical support to internal staff and consultants.
• Assist with onboarding/offboarding, hardware procurement, and asset management.
• Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and infrastructure changes.
• Support cloud‑based platforms, Azure services, and monitor security alerts.

Required profile

• Matric certification.
• Relevant IT qualification, certification, or equivalent experience.
• Experience administering Windows Server environments.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, routing).
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and Azure environments.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies (Hyper‑V or VMware).
• Experience with backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and endpoint protection.
