Supply Chain Coordinator – Cape Town Southern Suburbs

About the role

The Supply Chain Coordinator will support the procurement and manufacturing flow of raw and packaging materials for a food‑processing operation in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. You will act as the link between suppliers, the warehouse and the production team to ensure timely, cost‑effective delivery while maintaining food‑safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Place, track and manage purchase orders for raw and packaging materials.
• Maintain up‑to‑date pricing, lead times and supplier records in company systems.
• Coordinate printed packaging artwork changes, approvals and supplier communication.
• Handle logistics for local and imported materials with warehouse and freight agents.
• Negotiate pricing and terms where possible.
• Update production schedules, communicate manufacturing orders to the warehouse and monitor lead times.
• Ensure full traceability, audit readiness and food‑contact material compliance.

Required profile

• Matric plus tertiary education.
• At least 3 years experience in a similar supply‑chain role, preferably in the food industry.
• Familiarity with food safety standards such as FSSC 22000.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using the CIN7 inventory management system.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems for production and documentation.
