Structural Rebar Detailer

About the role

Our client, a leading engineering consulting firm, is looking for a meticulous Structural Rebar Detailer to join their team in Durbanville, Cape Town. You will translate architectural and structural concepts into precise rebar detailing that supports residential, commercial and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed rebar bending schedules and drawings for a variety of structural projects.
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings to develop accurate rebar placement details.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs meet project requirements and SANS code compliance.
• Review and verify all details for accuracy, constructability and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions and documentation.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting during construction.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of rebar materials.
• Assist with on‑site rebar inspections.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Structural Rebar Detailer.
• Experience with rebar detailing software (e.g., CADS RC, Autopads).
• Certificate or similar qualification in rebar detailing (preferred).
• Strong understanding of construction principles, reinforcement techniques and relevant codes.
• Ability to interpret and analyse architectural and structural drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
