Strategic Executive – Senior Management Role

About the role

The Strategic Executive will lead the development and implementation of strategic housing infrastructure projects, providing guidance on financial indicators, risk management and policy formulation. This senior position reports to senior management and influences critical decision‑making across the directorate.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret strategic implementation frameworks and alignment processes.
• Manage consulting, advising and formulation of the directorate’s capital financial indicators and provisions.
• Provide advice, information and guidance to project teams on conceptual, analytical, investigative and reporting requirements for complex housing projects.
• Guide critical development and decision‑making processes for strategic housing infrastructure projects.
• Direct integration of management and reporting of strategic infrastructure project information.
• Serve as the Unit Risk Management Champion.
• Engage in policy formulation and review of directional guidelines for strategic project management.
• Control implementation and monitoring of complex fiscal and government project management processes.
• Prepare and disseminate information to strategic management on status and requirements of approved unit programmes.
• Execute actions to meet administrative and reporting requirements linked to key performance and result indicators.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in the Built Environment or a related field.
• Valid motor vehicle driving licence.
• At least 8 years of relevant management experience, with a minimum of 3 years at senior management level.
• Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in the Built Environment or related field (preferred).
• 9 years of relevant management experience, with at least 4 years at senior management level (preferred).
