Store Assistant / General Worker – 20 Openings

About the role

The Store Assistant / General Worker supports daily store operations, assists customers, maintains stock levels and ensures a clean, welcoming environment across multiple Mr Price locations nationwide.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers with product enquiries and purchases.
• Unpack, pack and arrange stock on shelves and display areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, fitting rooms and stockrooms.
• Operate the till / point‑of‑sale system (training provided).
• Support stock takes, inventory control and handling returns.

Required profile

• South African citizen, aged 18‑35 (YES Programme) or otherwise.
• Matric (Grade 12) preferred; Grade 10 or Adult Basic Education Level 4 acceptable.
• Currently unemployed for YES Programme positions.
• Strong communication and customer‑service orientation.
• Physically fit, able to stand long hours and work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• No criminal record and able to work well in a team.

What we offer

• Salary ranging from R6 500 to R9 500 per month, depending on location and experience.
• Permanent or fixed‑term contracts with the possibility of participation in the YES Programme.
