Steward – Guest Services & Event Support

About the role

The Steward ensures a welcoming, organized, and safe environment for guests, partners, and team members at the Fort Site. Working full‑time on‑site, you will greet visitors, support events, and help maintain shared spaces in line with the organisation’s people‑first values.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and assist visitors, responding to inquiries with consistent customer service.
• Coordinate food and beverage service, including set‑up and clear‑down of service areas.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation in all shared spaces.
• Support events and gatherings by adapting to changing needs and ensuring smooth operations.
• Assist with basic orientation or training for new team members on service standards and site procedures.
• Perform simple stock checks, record‑keeping, and supply coordination.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service and communication skills; ability to engage respectfully with diverse individuals.
• Reliability, punctuality, and ability to follow structured processes.
• Team‑oriented mindset, adaptable under pressure, and calm during busy periods.
• Basic numeracy and organizational abilities for stock and record tasks.
• Commitment to inclusive, non‑discriminatory behaviour and upholding safety and dignity at work.
• Willingness to learn; prior hospitality or event experience is a plus but not mandatory.
