SQL Supply Chain Consultant

About the role

Embelo is expanding its RELEX capability in Cape Town and is looking for a SQL Supply Chain Consultant to support manufacturing‑focused implementations and ongoing system optimisation for Food & Beverage clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure and debug RELEX solutions using SQL for demand, supply and production planning.
• Work with live implementations, optimise existing SQL configurations and improve model outputs such as forecast accuracy.
• Support customers throughout the full lifecycle – from purchase through go‑live to continuous service.
• Lead and participate in workshops, design sessions, configuration reviews and playback meetings.
• Provide expert advice on software and supply‑chain management, translating business requirements into effective solutions.
• Own the configuration plan, integrate it into project timelines, estimate effort and flag delays.
• Define and monitor KPIs to measure customer success.

Required profile

• Strong consulting mindset with client empathy and the ability to solve complex problems.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL for data validation, analysis and troubleshooting within planning systems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or 3‑4 years of relevant experience with retail customers and planning processes.
• Experience in supply‑chain or production planning within manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to Food & Beverage sectors is advantageous.
