About the role
A leading Johannesburg‑based denim and fashion imports agency is seeking a dynamic Imports Fashion Merchandiser/Coordinator to drive product development and manage the full import supply chain.
Key responsibilities
- Drive new product development across denim and fashion categories.
- Act as the primary liaison between clients and factories.
- Manage costing, price negotiations and supplier relationships.
- Oversee quality assurance, pre‑production samples, trims and approvals.
- Track orders through the entire production cycle and review inspection reports and fabric tests before shipment.
- Source local trims and other inputs to support production.
Required profile
- South African citizenship.
- Relevant fashion degree or diploma.
- 4–7 years proven imports merchandising experience in the apparel industry.
- Strong knowledge of imports and local sourcing.
- Based in Johannesburg and able to work on‑site.
Required skills
- Costing and price negotiation expertise.
- Local sourcing and supplier management.
