Solution Architect

About the role

The Solution Architect will lead the design of application systems that align with Nedbank's business strategy. You will balance functional requirements with resource utilisation and architectural standards, ensuring robust, compliant solutions across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a transformation‑focused culture and participate in Nedbank’s cultural initiatives.
• Support corporate social responsibility projects that reinforce business objectives.
• Identify and recommend process, tool and policy improvements to add value.
• Produce operational reports in line with service level agreements.
• Mitigate risk by ensuring data accuracy and adherence to compliance requirements.
• Manage the production environment, overseeing application processes and cost control.
• Collaborate with analysts and designers to develop outputs that meet specifications.
• Create training material for end‑users and stay current on legislative and industry changes.
• Demonstrate Nedbank’s values in interactions with teams and stakeholders.
• Drive personal career development through mentorship and continuous learning.
• Maintain knowledge management practices and share expertise within a diverse team.
• Identify risks, take corrective actions, and communicate project dependencies.

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) or equivalent.
• Professional qualification or Honours degree; Master’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Systems preferred.
• 5–8 years of relevant IT experience, preferably within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of administrative procedures, systems and banking operations.
