Solar Performance Engineer

About the role

Amandla Energy is seeking a Solar Performance Engineer to lead the performance of its commercial and industrial (C&I) solar portfolio. In this hands‑on technical leadership position you will own performance standards, drive data‑centric improvements for both existing and new solar plants, and translate insights into actionable on‑site solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain performance metrics and standards for the solar portfolio.
• Collect, analyse, and interpret operational data to identify efficiency gains.
• Develop and implement improvement plans for existing plants and support performance optimisation for new installations.
• Collaborate with field teams to turn analytical insights into practical on‑site actions.
• Prepare performance reports and present findings to senior management.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a passion for renewable energy.
• Experience working with solar power plants, preferably in a C&I context.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives and work cross‑functionally.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement.

Required skills

• Data analysis and performance monitoring tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python).
• Understanding of solar PV system operation and performance indicators.
• Familiarity with SCADA or similar plant monitoring platforms.
