Software Engineer – AI-driven AgTech (Hybrid, Cape Town)

About the role

Aerobotics is looking for proactive Software Engineers to join its Cape Town team in a hybrid setup. You will help bring state‑of‑the‑art AI models to real‑world farming operations, influencing decisions that affect actual orchards worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with product managers to understand user needs and translate them into functional features.
• Develop and maintain production‑grade software that integrates AI models with farm‑level data pipelines.
• Work with a cross‑functional team to deliver technology that tackles some of agriculture’s toughest challenges.

Required profile

• Proven experience solving complex technical problems in tech‑focused product companies.
• Hands‑on experience building production software systems and delivering end‑to‑end solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics).
• Highly proactive, able to work independently from idea through execution.
• Willingness to work on‑site three days a week in Cape Town.
