About the role

We are partnering with a global technology business that operates in the financial and investment space, serving large institutional clients worldwide. The Johannesburg engineering team is expanding and is looking for junior, intermediate and senior developers who enjoy building scalable internal platforms and automation tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance backend systems and internal platforms.
• Create APIs and services that power large‑scale applications.
• Write clean, reliable, and maintainable code.
• Collaborate with developers, product teams and technical stakeholders.
• Participate in architectural and technical discussions.
• Support system performance, scalability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Engage in testing, troubleshooting and drive best‑practice engineering standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field.
• Junior: 0‑3 years, Intermediate: 3‑5 years, Senior: 5+ years of experience.
• Strong background in object‑oriented software development.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Apex or comparable backend frameworks.
• Comfortable working in Agile development environments.
• Excellent communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
• Curious, motivated and eager to learn new technologies.
