Social Media Coordinator

About the role

Icebolethu Group is seeking a permanent Social Media Coordinator within its Marketing & Communications Department, based at the Johannesburg regional office. The role will manage the company’s social media platforms to increase brand visibility, engagement and lead generation for non‑core business units such as Catering, UK, Foundation, i‑Mobile and Memorials.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute monthly content plans and schedules aligned with corporate campaigns.
• Create engaging visual and written content, including graphics, short‑form video and copy.
• Drive digital presence, engagement and lead generation for the non‑core units.
• Coordinate with regional branches to source content, manage submissions and enforce brand standards.
• Manage community interactions, responding to comments, messages and queries professionally.
• Escalate sensitive customer issues to internal resolution teams.
• Support marketing campaigns, promotions, PR activities, live events and brand ambassador initiatives.
• Track platform metrics, compile monthly performance reports per business unit and optimise content based on data insights.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
• 2–4 years of active social media management experience.
• Proven experience handling multiple corporate brands or distinct social media pages simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of digital platform optimisation, posting schedules and algorithm mechanics.
• Excellent content creation, storytelling and multitasking abilities.
• High attention to detail, customer‑focused mindset and adaptability.
