Social Media Content Creator & Coordinator

About the role

Join Mukuru’s fast‑paced marketing team in Cape Town to create and coordinate engaging social media content that resonates with African audiences and the diaspora. You will be the bridge between trend spotting, video production and brand storytelling across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the execution of the social media content calendar across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, YouTube).
• Write and adapt copy for each platform, ensuring brand voice and native formatting.
• Monitor trends and create timely, brand‑safe reactive video and static content.
• Shoot, edit and produce short‑form videos using phone or camera and tools such as CapCut.
• Create assets in Canva and hand over design briefs to the creative team.
• Use Sprout Social (or similar) for scheduling, social listening and performance reporting.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent; degree or diploma in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications or related field.
• 2–3 years of hands‑on social media or digital marketing experience, managing brand pages on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and LinkedIn.
• Strong understanding of African audiences, especially in Zimbabwe, South Africa and diaspora markets.

Required skills

• Canva for static and video content creation.
• CapCut (or similar) for video editing and AI‑enhanced features.
• Social media management tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite or Later.
• AI content‑generation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude).
• Video shooting and editing on phone or camera.
• Basic social media analytics and reporting.
