Site Supervisor

About the role

Henry Fagan Consulting Engineers & Project Managers is seeking a dynamic and experienced Site Supervisor to oversee construction activities in Cape Town. The role involves ensuring contract compliance, health, safety and environmental standards, and effective coordination among contractors and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor site contracts, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations; conduct risk assessments for high‑risk plant operations.
• Track and report contractor working hours, manpower, overtime and visitor attendance.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices across the site.
• Communicate daily progress and issues to the Site Manager, Project Manager, SHEQ Manager and senior advisors.
• Complete daily SHE checklists, maintain records and report incidents promptly.
• Plan daily tasks in line with the site programme and approved method statements.
• Monitor contractor progress against the approved schedule and provide daily reports, photos and equipment data.
• Inspect work against specifications, re‑measure where required and ensure quality, time and cost targets are met.

Required profile

• Proven experience in site supervision within the construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of contract documents, drawings, schedules, specifications and method statements.
• Ability to conduct safety risk assessments and enforce SHE compliance.
• Excellent reporting skills and ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders.
• Attention to detail in monitoring progress, quality and cost.
