Site Agent – Large‑Diameter Steel Pipeline Construction

About the role

Join an international infrastructure leader on a landmark water project in Limpopo. As the Site Agent you will direct on‑site activities for the installation of a large‑diameter welded steel pipeline that connects reservoirs, pump stations and control systems across a major bulk‑water network.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily construction operations, coordinating multiple trades and resolving on‑site issues.
• Supervise all pipeline phases: site clearance, trenching, welding, laying, and installation of accessories such as valves and flow meters.
• Control quality by verifying depth, slope, joint integrity and material compliance.
• Oversee installation of electrical, control and instrumentation systems, including power supply and fibre‑optic cabling.
• Align pipeline works with pumping stations, reservoirs and other infrastructure interfaces.
• Implement safety management systems, conduct site patrols and conduct staff safety training.
• Act as liaison with design consultants, the owner’s team and local community to mitigate construction impacts.
• Maintain accurate records, progress reports and compliance documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience on welded buried steel pipelines ≥800 mm diameter, with at least 20 km installed.
• Trade qualification or degree/diploma in Construction Management or Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA or SACPCMP is advantageous.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors, ensure quality control and uphold safety standards.
• Willingness to be site‑based in Limpopo for the project duration.
