Site Agent

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Site Agent to support the delivery of construction projects in Johannesburg. The role focuses on coordinating subcontractors, overseeing daily site activities and ensuring progress against programme targets while maintaining health, safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day site activities and ensure smooth execution of construction works.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation accurately.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to achieve programme targets.
• Monitor project progress against construction schedules and report delays or risks.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and enforce site discipline and housekeeping.
• Resolve on‑site technical and construction‑related issues promptly.
• Monitor material usage, equipment and site resources efficiently.
• Support cost control through tracking of labour, materials and productivity.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports and progress updates.
• Identify risks early and implement corrective actions where required.
• Drive clear communication between site teams, engineers and project stakeholders.

Required profile

• BTech or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in a site‑based construction role, preferably on building projects.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, methods and site processes.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
